US companies challenged on Latino board representations
The Latino Corporate Directors Association, in partnership with other Hispanic advocacy groups, has launched the Latino Voices for Boardroom Equity campaign to lobby over 240 US businesses like Del Taco, El Pollo Loco and Chipotle to boost the number of Latinos on their board of director from their current zero to ultimately 20% representation. The response from the initial campaign contact has been tepid but experts understand that the long-term strategy will have to include pressure from investors for more diversity, says data analyst with Institutional Shareholder Services Brett Miller.
