US raises do-not-travel alert for Japan

The State Department increased the level of the US do-not-travel advisory for Japan due to a surge of COVID-19 cases as the country prepares to hold the Summer Olympics. Meanwhile, the CDC reports that nearly 286.9 million COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered as of Monday morning and more than 130.6 million people are fully vaccinated.
