Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings has announced it has completed the integration of Atlas Air (5Y, New York JFK) and Southern Air (9S, Cincinnati Int’l) under a single Air Operating Certificate (AOC) – that of Atlas Air.

“The 2016 acquisition of Southern Air enhanced our company’s position as a leading global provider of outsourced aircraft and aviation operating services by expanding our fleet and global capabilities to drive significant value for our customers and shareholders. We are excited to have all our Southern Air employees assume positions with Atlas Air as we complete the final step in merging these two great airlines,” President and Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Air Worldwide John W. Dietrich.

Atlas Air Worldwide acquired Southern Air for approximately USD110 million.

Southern Air operated eight B737-800(BCF)s and nine B777-Fs. Both types are new additions to Atlas Air’s fleet. The ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows that the parent carrier operates 82 aircraft drawn from the B747 and B767 families in both passenger and cargo configurations.

Polar Air Cargo (PO, New York JFK) continues to operate as a separate entity with its own AOC employing five B747-400(FSCD)s. AAWH also owns Titan Aviation Holdings, a lessor.
