Victory Cruise Lines Unveils New Ships and Godmothers
Victory Cruise Lines, an all-inclusive, small-ship cruise operator, has announced the godmothers for its two new ships ahead of their highly anticipated spring 2025 debuts. The ships, Victory I and Victory II, will honor the line’s founding family, the Waggoners, who will host exclusive inaugural cruises.
Meet the Godmothers
- Victory I: Emily Coleman, daughter of Chairman and Founder John Waggoner and his wife Claudette, will serve as the ship’s godmother.
- Victory II: Molly Applegate, the Waggoners’ eldest granddaughter, will christen the ship.
These appointments reflect the deep family legacy behind Victory Cruise Lines, which specializes in Great Lakes and Canadian coastal itineraries.
Inaugural Sailings for Spring 2025
Two special sailings will mark the ships’ debuts:
- Victory I’s Reunion Cruise: Departing April 16, 2025, this New England & Canada Reunion Cruise sails from Portland to Toronto with John and Claudette Waggoner onboard. The ship’s official christening follows on April 27, 2025, ahead of its 9-night maiden voyage to Chicago.
- Victory II’s Mother’s Day Voyage: The christening will take place on May 12, 2025, at Chicago’s Navy Pier, where the line exclusively docks. Guests will enjoy a special Mother’s Day brunch hosted by the Waggoner godmothers before setting sail on the Great Lakes.
