VietJetAir is planning to expand its network to Europe by the end of 2025, according to Jay Lingeswara, the carrier’s vice president for commercial. Europe is a primary target for the airline’s international growth, with potential routes to destinations in Czechia, France, Germany, and the UK. The airline is also considering one-stop services to Europe as part of its expansion strategy.

In addition to European routes, VietJetAir is exploring the possibility of launching flights to the United States. However, the airline has not yet applied for the necessary US Foreign Air Carrier Permit to operate in the US. VietJetAir did not respond to ch-aviation’s request for further comment.

In September 2025, the airline will begin operating a new 4x weekly route between Ho Chi Minh City and Auckland International, though ticket sales have not yet begun. The service may initially have a stopover in Australia. Currently, VietJetAir serves four Australian destinations: Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, and Melbourne.

VietJetAir’s fleet currently includes 17 A320-200s, 36 A321-200s, 11 A321-200Ns, 23 A321-200NXs, and seven A330-300s. The airline has placed an order for 20 A330-900Ns at the 2024 Farnborough Airshow to further develop its long-haul network and replace its existing A330-300s. These aircraft will also be used on high-demand regional routes.
