Vietnam Airlines adds 19th route to China

In January, Vietnam Airlines will operate flights between Da Nang, Vietnam and Shanghai, China. This extra route means the airline will have 19 different routes to China.

The new route will begin on January 19. The airline has direct flights to a host of major Chinese cities including Shanghai to Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang, Shanghai to Hangzhou or Da Nang.

In October, the airline announced two new routes out of Ho Chi Minh City – one to Phuket, Thailand and one to Bali, Indonesia. The new routes from Da Nang to Shanghai operate twice-weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. The Da Nang to Shanghai route utilises A321s on a four-star service.

The populations of China and Vietnam are some of the most well-travelled in the region and the closer ties between airlines of the two nations look set to continue in 2020.

Vietnam Airlines has stated that it intends to lift the nation’s aviation industry amidst tough regional competition.
