Residential cruise line Villa Vie Residences has announced World Uncharted, a record-breaking 301-day world voyage across five continents and more than 100 countries, set to launch in November 2027. As the longest residential cruise ever offered, World Uncharted invites full-time residents to embark on a sustained journey that promises unparalleled exploration and extended stays in each destination. Since launching its maiden voyage eight months ago, the company has refined its residential cruising model to offer this unprecedented itinerary.

The itinerary spans the dense jungles of the Amazon to the remote expanse of Antarctica, including a legendary Panama Canal crossing and rare landings in the Falkland Islands and Easter Island. Guests will explore Greenland’s icy frontier and countless cultural landmarks along the way. “In our eighth month of sailing with full-time Residents, we’re proud to introduce our boldest adventure yet,” said CEO Kathy Villalba, reflecting on the evolution of Villa Vie’s immersive approach to travel.

Unlike traditional world cruises that rush from port to port, Villa Vie Odyssey emphasizes deep cultural immersion. Many ports include stays of up to five days, allowing residents to engage with local communities, sample regional cuisine, and discover off-the-beaten-path experiences. Local experts and curated shore excursions further enrich the immersive experience, giving travelers time to forge genuine connections and appreciate each destination without the constraints of a typical cruise timetable.

Onboard accommodations blend the comforts of home with the amenities of a luxury cruise. Each oceanview villa features spacious living areas and elegant finishes, while a fully equipped business center and high-speed Starlink internet support remote work. State-of-the-art fitness and wellness programs complement the lifestyle offerings, and laundry and housekeeping services maintain a seamless residential experience at sea. Communal gathering spaces foster a welcoming atmosphere where neighbors quickly become friends and travel companions.

“This is not a cruise. It’s a lifestyle,” said Mikael Petterson, Founder and Chairman of Villa Vie Residences. “World Uncharted is a journey where new friendships are forged in every port and where an ever-moving floating community forms lasting bonds. Residents return home with stories and connections that extend far beyond the voyage itself.”

Pricing for oceanview villas starts at $38,799 per person for the full 301-day voyage, averaging under $129 per day based on double occupancy. Fares include accommodations, all meals, complimentary beer and wine with dinner, housekeeping, laundry, and internet access. The Friends & Family program allows residents to invite guests at the same daily rate, offering an opportunity to share this unique travel experience with loved ones and extend the sense of community aboard.

Villa Vie Odyssey is currently sailing its North American segment, with an extended Alaska season before heading to Japan and beyond. Prospective residents and their guests can attend the U.S. inaugural and press events on June 18, 2025, at Catalina Island outside Los Angeles. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet crew members, view sample villas, and learn about excursions and enrichment programs scheduled during the voyage.

Bookings for the 301-day World Uncharted voyage open soon, with limited cabins available to ensure an intimate community aboard. As residential cruising continues to redefine luxury travel, Villa Vie Residences invites explorers seeking a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to reserve their place on the most ambitious world journey ever conceived.
