Virgin Atlantic and SAS Launch New Codeshare Agreement
Virgin Atlantic and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) have announced a new codeshare agreement, expanding travel options for passengers of both airlines. Effective October 7, 2024, this partnership will provide seamless connections between Virgin Atlantic’s routes at London-Heathrow (LHR) and Manchester (MAN) and SAS’s destinations in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Stavanger, and Bergen.
SAS passengers will gain access to Virgin Atlantic’s global network, flying onward to destinations in the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, including Barbados, Jamaica, Cape Town, and the Maldives (pending government approval). This new codeshare follows SAS’s enrollment into the SkyTeam alliance in September 2024.
Frequent flyers will benefit from enhanced loyalty perks, with Virgin Atlantic Flying Club members and SAS EuroBonus members earning and redeeming points across both airlines’ networks. Elite members from both programs will also enjoy SkyPriority services, including priority check-in, baggage handling, and lounge access at key airports like Heathrow, Stockholm Arlanda, and Copenhagen.
This collaboration strengthens the global connectivity for both Virgin Atlantic and SAS passengers, offering new and exciting travel destinations with improved customer benefits.
