Virgin Atlantic has announced that it will soon resume flights to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The British airline will operate a four-times-weekly seasonal service from London Heathrow Airport to Dubai International Airport from October 28, 2023 through to March 2024.

The flights will be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring 31 Upper Class, 35 Premium and 192 Economy seats. The airline said that it expects the route to be popular with leisure customers looking for premium winter sun getaways.

Dubai is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city that offers a variety of attractions, from shopping and dining to culture and adventure. The city boasts world-class hotels, resorts and entertainment venues, as well as stunning beaches and desert landscapes.

Virgin Atlantic also said that the Dubai-London flight will offer convenient connections to destinations throughout North America across both the Virgin Atlantic and Delta networks, including New York, Seattle, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Bookings for the London-Dubai flights will open from June 7, 2023, with return economy fares starting from £505. The flight schedule is as follows:

  • VS400 LHR-DXB: departs 1735, arrives 0440 the following day
  • VS401 DXB-LHR: departs 1300, arrives 1705

The airline last operated flights to Dubai in March 2019, before suspending the route due to low demand and increased competition. The relaunch of the service is part of Virgin Atlantic’s recovery strategy, which also includes new routes to the Maldives and Turks and Caicos this winter.
