Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady Debuts in NYC

Virgin Voyages has officially welcomed its newest ship, the Brilliant Lady, to New York City, marking a milestone moment for the growing cruise line. Founder Richard Branson was onboard to greet 2,400 travelers and crew members as they arrived, joining a lively top-deck performance of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” led by Astrid Jorgensen of Pub Choir to celebrate the occasion.
The Brilliant Lady is the fourth and final ship in Virgin Voyages’ fleet, joining sister ships Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, and Resilient Lady on the high seas. “Today, we completed our fleet and celebrated a moment that will leave a legacy far beyond our ships,” said Branson. “What makes Virgin Voyages so intangibly special is our people. As we entered New York, with our crew and sailors singing as one, it was truly brilliant.”
Now docked in New York, the Brilliant Lady is preparing to host her first passengers on her “MerMaiden Voyage” to Bermuda on Friday. Throughout October, she will sail itineraries through the Northeast and Eastern Canada, giving travelers the chance to experience the region’s famed fall foliage from the comfort of Virgin Voyages’ signature adults-only atmosphere.
According to Virgin Voyages CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu, the Brilliant Lady “embodies everything Virgin Voyages stands for,” creating a joyous, welcoming, and transformative experience at sea. Her arrival completes a bold vision for the cruise line, which has quickly become known for its vibrant style, innovative amenities, and unconventional take on luxury cruising.
