Virgin Voyages Launches Transparent Fare Model

Virgin Voyages is introducing a new fare system, VoyageFair Choices, set to debut on October 7. Designed to bring greater transparency and flexibility, the model introduces tiered pricing options that align more closely with how travelers book airlines and hotels.

VoyageFair Choices features three distinct tiers for Sea Terrace and below cabins. The Base fare offers a non-refundable option that includes Basic Wi-Fi for one device per guest and dining reservations opening 15 days before sailing. The Essential fare provides Classic Wi-Fi, a 45-day dining reservation window, and the flexibility to change sailing dates through a Future Voyage Credit.

At the top level, the Premium fare includes premium Wi-Fi for two devices, a 60-day dining reservation window, a complimentary drinks credit, and priority access to pre-voyage booking support. For RockStar and Mega RockStar Quarters, dining reservations will now open 120 days before departure.

Virgin Voyages is also unbundling service gratuities, which will now appear as a separate line item during booking instead of being built into the fare. This change, according to the cruise line, ensures clearer cost breakdowns and more control for guests.

CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu emphasized that the move is about simplicity and confidence, stating that Virgin wants travelers to book with clarity while still enjoying the signature Virgin onboard experience. With VoyageFair Choices, Virgin Voyages continues to position itself as a disruptor in the cruise industry, offering a model that puts flexibility and transparency at the forefront.
