Vista America Ends G400 Use, Reassigns Excels to JetSelect

Vista America has recently made strategic changes to its aircraft fleet, including the retirement of its sole Gulfstream G400 and the transfer of three Citation Excels to JetSelect Aviation. This move introduces the Citation Excel jets into JetSelect’s Part 135-certified fleet, according to ch-aviation research.

The retired Gulfstream G400, registered as N960JS (msn 1521), is 20.5 years old and was configured to seat up to 13 passengers. Initially operating under Jet Edge with the ‘EDG’ code, the aircraft recently transitioned to Mira Vista Aviation with the ‘MVJ’ code, flying its inaugural flight to San José Cabo on January 21, 2025. Currently, it is not listed under Part 135 certification but marks Mira Vista Aviation’s first G400. Mira Vista’s fleet includes various Gulfstream models and a Citation Jet 4.

Jet Edge’s updated Part 135 fleet now includes a selection of Gulfstream and Legacy jets, reflecting the phase-out of the G400. Vista America has also aligned 22 Gulfstream aircraft under JetSelect’s certificate.

Meanwhile, the transferred Citation Excels—N264VR, N286VR, and N643TX—ceased operations under Red Wing Aviation’s ‘LAK’ code and have reemerged under JetSelect’s ‘VJA’ code since early 2025. These jets, manufactured in 2002, are designed to accommodate up to seven passengers.

This reorganization affects Red Wing’s certificate, which now includes six Citation Excels, with some now operating under JetSelect. This marks JetSelect’s first operation of Citation aircraft as part of the Vista America group. Discussions are ongoing about the future roles of these aircraft and their operational certifications.
