Vistara, the Indian full-service carrier and a joint venture of Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, has revealed its plans to launch daily nonstop flights between New Delhi (DEL) and Hong Kong (HKG) starting from October 29, 2023. The airline will utilize its Airbus A321neo aircraft, featuring a three-class configuration, for this new route.

The flights from New Delhi (DEL) to Hong Kong (HKG) will operate daily. Departure from DEL will be at 9:05 PM, and arrival at HKG is scheduled for 5:55 AM the following day. Return flights from HKG to DEL will depart at 8:55 AM and arrive at DEL at 1:10 PM. Vistara’s Airbus A321neo aircraft on this route will offer passengers 12 lie-flat business class seats, 24 premium economy seats, and 152 economy seats.

Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan cited the growing demand for travel between India and Hong Kong as the driving force behind the new service. Hong Kong is a prominent financial and commercial hub and a popular destination for Indian tourists. With this addition, Vistara aims to provide direct connectivity between three major financial centers: London, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Vistara will be joining other airlines serving the DEL-HKG route, including Air India, Cathay Pacific, and IndiGo. Data from OAG Schedules Analyser indicates that there will be approximately 17,400 two-way weekly seats available between the two cities by early November 2023, compared to about 14,900 in the same period in 2019. Vistara’s capacity on this route will account for approximately 15.1% of the total available capacity.

In addition to the DEL-HKG route, Vistara plans to commence flights from Kathmandu (KTM) to DEL and HKG from November 1, 2023. Vistara’s fleet consists of 10 A321neo aircraft, 46 A320neo aircraft, and five Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The airline also offers flights to various other international destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia through its hubs in New Delhi (DEL) and Mumbai (BOM).

Vistara’s new service is expected to cater to both business travelers and tourists, further enhancing connectivity between India and Hong Kong.
