Westair Aviation Launches Zambezi Safari Lodge Charters

Namibia’s Westair Aviation has launched Fly-in Zambezi, a luxury safari charter service created through a 50/50 joint venture with Gondwana Collection Namibia. The new offering provides lodge-hopping flights across the Zambezi region, connecting premier safari destinations in Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Botswana.
Fly-in Zambezi will be operated using a Cessna Grand Caravan (registration V5-WAP), based at Katima Mulilo/Mpacha Airport. The aircraft will link Gondwana’s luxury lodges along the Zambezi River with key regional destinations including Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, and Maun and Kasane in Botswana, as well as remote wilderness areas.
Westair announced that Fly-in Zambezi will operate on a seasonal basis, launching in July 2025 and running through November. The service will resume in April 2026 and continue seasonally. For its first season in 2025, the operation will function as a charter-only service, catering to private safari travelers and tour operators seeking flexible, point-to-point access to remote lodges.
Beginning in April 2026, Fly-in Zambezi plans to introduce scheduled flights three times a week. These flights will operate as part of a circuit model, similar to the FlyNamibia Safari network run by FlyNamibia, Westair’s scheduled airline subsidiary.
The launch of Fly-in Zambezi aims to enhance tourism access and provide seamless air connectivity for high-end safari travelers exploring Namibia’s northeastern wilderness. This strategic move also strengthens Westair’s footprint in regional tourism aviation and complements Gondwana’s lodge offerings across the Zambezi corridor.
