As co-hosts of Routes Europe 2025, the Andalucia Tourism Board is gearing up to showcase the region’s appeal and provide insights into next year’s event.

Andalucia, a southern Spanish autonomous community renowned for its rich history, culture, and natural beauty, experienced record-breaking passenger numbers in 2023. Malaga Airport saw over 22 million passengers, while Seville surpassed eight million.

The region recently hosted the CAPA Airline Leader Summit 2024 in Granada and announced a new year-round route from Amsterdam to Granada starting in September. Seville Airport’s 2024 summer schedule features five new destinations, including Ryanair flights to Trieste, Birmingham, and Budapest; Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) to Stockholm; and Air Nostrum to Madeira.

With strong domestic and European connections, Andalucia attracts visitors from the UK, Germany, Nordic countries, Italy, and France. Antonio Martín-Machuca, head of cooperation and air connectivity, emphasized plans to expand long-haul routes to the U.S., Canada, and South America, noting the region’s participation in Routes Americas in Bogota earlier this year.

Routes Europe 2025, set to be held in Seville, will be co-hosted by the Andalucia Tourism Board. Preparations are underway, with coordination among airports, governing bodies, and local communities.

Martín-Machuca expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event, stating, “Seville is one city in the world you must visit at least once in your life. We are excited for the opportunity to host Routes Europe 2025 and welcome delegates to experience all that Seville has to offer.”

Delegates at Routes Europe 2025, held at the Fibes Conference and Exhibition Centre, will explore new business opportunities and enjoy the vibrant city of Seville.
