Travelers planning to visit Germany, Spain, France, the UK, or Italy in the coming weeks may face travel disruptions due to planned strikes.

In Germany, thousands of transport workers will stage a 24-hour walkout on Monday, March 27, affecting security and ground workers at all German airports except Berlin, local transit workers in 16 states, harbor staff, and highway workers.

Rail services across Germany will also be severely impacted. Swissport workers at 17 Spanish airports will also strike on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays between February 27 and April 13.

In France, ongoing protests over the government’s plan to raise the retirement age to 64 may lead to demonstrations that could turn violent, particularly around the National Assembly, Place de la Concorde, and the eighth arrondissement.

At London’s Heathrow Airport, 1,400 security guards at Terminal 5 will stage a 10-day walkout starting on March 31, while over 1,000 UK passport office workers are also planning to strike from April 3 to May 5, potentially affecting passport processing times.

Finally, Italy’s ENAV air traffic controllers will strike nationwide on April 2, from 1 pm to 5 pm.
