White House travel opening hailed by trade group
The Biden administration’s announcement Monday that vaccinated travelers may enter the country beginning in November “is a major turning point in the management of the virus and will accelerate the recovery of the millions of travel-related jobs,” US Travel Association President Roger Dow said. The 18-month suspension of visitation from Brazil, China, Europe, India, Iran and South Africa and slashed international revenues by 79% for an industry that lost $500 billion overall in 2020, the association said.
