Windstar Cruises’ esteemed 310-guest ship, Wind Surf, is set to undergo the first phase of its comprehensive renovations next month in Cadiz, Spain. The five-masted sailing yacht, a favorite among seasoned Windstar cruisers, will sport a fresh look when it reenters service with a “Classic Caribbean” holiday cruise on December 21. This marks the beginning of its season, which will include a “Beach Fun & Sun” cruise followed by an extensive 55-day “Grand Caribbean Adventure” itinerary.

Stijn Creupelandt, the Chief Operating Officer of Windstar Cruises, expressed excitement about the renovations, emphasizing the enhanced atmosphere and updated technology that will greet passengers. “Wind Surf has become a beloved choice among our longtime guests,” said Creupelandt. He anticipates personally welcoming guests during the festive holiday sailing to celebrate the yacht’s transformation.

The multi-million dollar refurbishment will refresh many of the ship’s public spaces, including new layouts, modern furniture, upgraded wall and floor coverings, enhanced lighting, and custom art installations. The renovation extends to the vessel’s staterooms and suites, which will see upgrades like interactive TVs and technology enhancements. Notably, the Owner’s Suite will receive a significant upgrade, and new Broadmoor and Sea Island suites—inspired by the cruise line’s sister resorts in Colorado and Georgia—will be introduced.

The second phase of the renovation will update stateroom furniture, décor, and soft goods. It will also include revamps of additional public areas such as the Stella Bistro, Veranda, and the fitness studio. The entire renovation project is slated for completion by December 2026. This upgrade is part of Windstar’s broader initiative to update all three of its Wind Class ships—Wind Surf, Wind Star, and Wind Spirit—following a $250 million revitalization of its motor yachts, with plans also underway to add two new ships, Star Seeker and Star Explorer, to its fleet.
