Windstar Names Paul Chapple VP of Hotel Ops

Windstar Cruises has appointed Paul Chapple as its new vice president of hotel operations, reinforcing its leadership team during a period of fleet expansion and brand evolution.

Chapple joins Windstar as the cruise line prepares to grow with two new ships, Star Seeker and Star Explorer, marking a significant phase in its development. In his new role, he will oversee the continued transformation of hotel operations to align with the company’s elevated luxury positioning. He will report directly to Stijn Creupelandt, who recently advanced to chief operating officer.

With more than 20 years of experience in the cruise industry, Chapple brings expertise in guest experience strategy, onboard revenue development and operational leadership. Most recently, he served as associate vice president of onboard commercial strategy at Azamara Cruises, where he led global initiatives across shore excursions, multiday land programs, hotel stays and signature onboard events. His background also includes senior roles in hotel operations and revenue optimization.

At Windstar, Chapple will oversee all aspects of hotel operations and product development, including food and beverage, entertainment, onboard services, guest relations and destination programming. His leadership will play a key role in maintaining the brand’s boutique identity while scaling operations to support a growing fleet.

Windstar Cruises operates a collection of all-suite yachts and sailing ships known for immersive itineraries and personalized service. The company’s expansion includes the December 2025 launch of Star Seeker, which sails in the Caribbean, Alaska, Japan and Southeast Asia. Star Explorer is scheduled to debut in December 2026 with year-round Mediterranean itineraries.

As Windstar enters this next growth phase, the appointment of Paul Chapple underscores the cruise line’s focus on enhancing guest experience standards while preserving the intimate, small-ship atmosphere that defines the brand.
