Wizz Air has launched two new routes from Italy to Saudi Arabia, expanding its operations in the Kingdom even further.

The first route will be from Rome to King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, and the second will be from Milan Malpensa airport to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, where flights will run twice weekly for both.

These two new routes emphasise the Hungarian low-fare carrier’s rapid growth and boost the Kingdom’s growing tourism sector and its Vision 2030 Programme. These routes are one of 23 new routes that Wizz Air have announced within Saudi Arabia.

On the new Milan route, Evelin Jeckel, Network Officer at Wizz Air, stated: “We are pleased to announce this new route from Milan Malpensa Airport to Saudi Arabia, which will allow travellers departing from Northern Italy to benefit from the immense historical, artistic and cultural heritage that the Saudi Kingdom, particularly the city of Jeddah, has to offer.”

Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Maghlouth, CEO of Riyadh Airports Company, said about the new Rome to Riyadh route: “This launch fits in with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the Saudi Aviation Strategy, as KSA will be connected with international destinations offered at more affordable prices. […] Riyadh Airports is eager to cooperate with the best airlines to offer more travelling options and destinations, together with better services. Wizz Air is a Hungarian ultra-low-cost carrier with an excellent reputation.”
