Nigeria’s Xejet Expands Operations with All-Business-Class Flight Services
Xejet (4U) is making significant strides in the aviation industry by expanding its business scope to include scheduled operations under its air operator’s certificate (AOC). The airline plans to introduce all-business-class flights utilizing its fleet of 24-seater CRJ200 aircraft, catering specifically to business travelers seeking comfort and convenience, reported ch-aviation.com.
CEO Emmanuel Iza revealed that the initial plan is to operate daily flights between Lagos and Abuja, two major cities in Nigeria. Although the launch date has not been finalized, Iza assured that details would be confirmed soon. “We’re working to finalize dates; we will know in the next few days,” he said. He also expressed aspirations for long-term expansion, stating that Xejet aims to connect Lagos with other key cities, including Kano, Port Harcourt, and Abuja.
Currently, Xejet operates a fleet of two all-business-class CRJ200s. These aircraft are fully owned by the company, reflecting Xejet’s commitment to maintaining a quality fleet for its specialized services. According to ch-aviation research, the airline is in negotiations with Regional One to acquire an additional CRJ200ER which is expected to join the fleet by the end of October.
Xejet initially secured its AOC for non-scheduled charter operations in 2022, marking its entry into the aviation market. Since then, the airline has been actively working to broaden its service offerings and enhance its operational capabilities. In addition to the CRJ200s, Xejet’s current fleet includes three Embraer 145 (E145) aircraft, with plans to add another E145 soon, according to ch-aviation fleets data.
The introduction of scheduled all-business-class flights represents a strategic move for Xejet as it seeks to position itself as a premier provider of business travel services in Nigeria. The airline’s focus on high-quality, comfortable seating is expected to attract business travelers who value convenience and a tailored travel experience.
As the aviation market in Nigeria continues to recover and grow post-pandemic, Xejet’s expansion plans align with the increasing demand for efficient air travel options among business professionals. With its all-business-class configuration, Xejet aims to differentiate itself from competitors by offering a specialized product that meets the unique needs of corporate travelers.
The establishment of daily flights between Lagos and Abuja is poised to enhance connectivity between these two vital economic hubs, fostering improved business relations and opportunities. As Xejet prepares for this new chapter, the airline is committed to delivering exceptional service and ensuring a seamless travel experience for its passengers.
