Zallie: Customer needs come first during disruption
The economy is emerging from multiple disruptions and events, including “a snapback in demand that’s unprecedented; a system that’s been depleted of workers for a labor shortage; and all the transitory issues that you need to navigate,” Ingredion CEO Jim Zallie says. A customer-first approach will help companies survive this period, Zallie argues, citing Ingredion’s focus on “co-creation” with customers and addition of a line of ingredients made from proteins such as lentils. “We look at the latest trends and connect those ideas to our customers, because our customer brand proposition is to ‘be what’s next,'” he says.
