The Transportation Security Administration screened about 11.3 million people at airport checkpoints between Dec. 18 and Dec. 28, the highest volume since the coronavirus crisis hit but still 50% lower than in 2019. Meanwhile, the Airlines Reporting Corp. noted that airline ticket sales for the week ending Dec. 27 were down 63.8% compared with last year, an improvement over the 66.1% of the previous week, possibly triggered by optimism over new coronavirus vaccines.
