2021 hotel forecast brightens, but worries cloud 2022

The 2021 hospitality outlook has enjoyed another upgrade from STR and Tourism Economics, though the firms caution that a demand spike behind the bump will fade after the summer because of subnormal business travel. “[W]ith more concern around the Delta variant as well as delays in companies returning their employees to offices, it’s possible that businesses [will] wait until early 2022 to put their people back on the road,” said STR president Amanda Hite.
