$58M sale sought for scandal-ridden Vermont ski resort

A Vermont ski resort whose former owner and president were embroiled in alleged fraud schemes, one of which resulted in a federal prison sentence, has a prospective buyer. The court-appointed receiver for Jay Peak has asked the court to approve a sale to Utah-based Pacific Group Resorts for $58 million, noting that the once-moribund company now is profitable and hosts hundreds of jobs.
