Wizz Air UK to open Doncaster/Sheffield base in 4Q20
Wizz Air UK (W9, London Luton) will open a new base at Doncaster/Sheffield airport, its second in the United Kingdom, with the onset of the Winter 2020/21 season. Parent firm Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) said in a statement its UK subsidiary would deploy a single A320-200 to the Yorkshire airfield from November onwards. This will then allow for the launch of the following new routes. At present, Wizz Air connects Doncaster/Sheffield with Bucharest Otopeni, Cluj-Napoca, and Timisoara in Romania; Debrecen in Hungary; Gdansk, Katowice, Kraków, Poznan, and Warsaw Chopin in Poland; Riga in Latvia; and Vilnius in Lithuania. Wizz Air UK’s main base is at London Luton.
