Forli, Italy to regain scheduled flights with Air Dolomiti
Air Dolomiti (EN, Verona) has announced it will launch a new route from Forli to Munich, marking the resumption of scheduled services at the northern Italian airport. The 5x weekly service will commence on December 1, 2020, and will be operated with ERJ 190-200LRs. While operated by Air Dolomiti under its own code and business risk, the flights will be covered by an interline agreement with parent Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int’l), allowing passengers to transfer seamlessly at Munich airport. Forli has not seen any scheduled flights since 2013, when Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) relocated all its services to nearby Bologna. Despite tentative plans, Volotea (V7, Asturias) did not launch services from the airport in 2019. Air Horizont (HT, Zaragoza) had also floated plans to base an B737-400 out of Forli for the Summer 2020 season and operate charter flights from the airport. However, to date, no futher developments have materialised.
