Air France-KLM to raise capital by mid-2Q21

Air France-KLM has announced it is planning to “implement measures to strengthen its equity and quasi-equity by May 2021”. The Franco-Dutch carrier did not reveal any further details as to the amount of capital it would seek or the modalities of the said measures. Air France-KLM hinted at the planned capital raise in a statement announcing the early redemption on October 1, 2020, of EUR403.3 million euro (USD476 million) worth of subordinate notes issued in 2015. The holding said it was redeeming the notes to lower its financial costs.
