Makeover of once-grand hotel may proceed, NYC says

New York City officials have withdrawn their opposition to the planned redevelopment of the landmark Chelsea Hotel into a luxury hotel. City attorneys said newly discovered evidence of the owner’s intentions changed their position in a court case that current tenants were being treated unfairly in the renovation venture.
