Delta CEO: Domestic testing mandate “horrible idea”
Requiring a negative COVID-19 test for domestic flights would be a “horrible idea for a lot of reasons,” Delta CEO Ed Bastian said on CNN. “It would take about 10% of the testing resources that this country needs to do to test sick people away,” he said. “It would be a logistical nightmare and set transportation – and not just transportation, but the whole hospitality sector – back at least another year in the recovery.” Bastian emphasized that domestic testing would fail to keep travelers safer but prevent people from “reclaiming their lives” by diverting testing resources.
