Distressed hotel assets will take until 2023 to surpass 50% of their recent value and until 2024 to reach full pre-pandemic levels, CoStar Risk Analytics projects. Economy, midscale and extended-stay hotels fared better over the past year than their higher-priced counterparts, the reverse of the 2008 recession experience, the real estate data firm notes.
