Bringing American’s planes “out of hibernation”
At American Airlines’ maintenance facility in Tulsa, Okla., technicians are hard at work bringing aircraft “out of hibernation” with the recent uptick in demand for leisure destinations, a task that takes around 1,000 hours per plane. “The guys are checking the engine, all the systems on the engines to make sure it’s performing,” said Roger Steele, an assistant manager at the facility.
