How George Floyd’s killing spurred change at Target
The murder of George Floyd so close to Target’s headquarters a year ago spurred CEO Brian Cornell to increase the retailer’s efforts in the areas of diversity and racial equity, Cornell said. Since then, the retailer has vowed to boost the number of Black employees by 20%, created a program to help Black entrepreneurs develop and market new products, and earmarked more than $2 billion to be spent with Black-owned businesses.
