Labor gap may set back hospitality’s comeback

Hotels and casinos face a labor shortage as they gear up from the pandemic, prompting concerns that curtailed customer service and higher staffing costs will slow recovery. “While it is difficult to precisely gauge the financial impact labor pressures could have, the concern is that higher wages could outweigh post-COVID operating efficiencies at hotels,” analyst Patrick Scholes notes.
