North Carolina’s 21 Air adds first B767-200(BDSF) for DHL
21 Air (2I, Greensboro) has added its first B767-200(BDSF) under a CMI deal with DHL Express, Cargo Facts has reported. N652GT (msn 22571) was previously operated for the logistics firm by Atlas Air (5Y, New York JFK). It was phased out from active service on April 10, 2021, and subsequently underwent maintenance at Lake Charles Chennault. On May 9, 2021, it was ferried to Miami Opa-Locka under a 21 Air flight number but has yet to enter revenue service, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. 21 Air’s fleet has thus far comprised two B767-200(ERBDSF)s dry-leased from Canada’s Cargojet Airways. Both aircraft are based out of Cincinnati Int’l and operate for DHL Express. In turn, Atlas Air continues to operate four more B767-200(BDSF)s for DHL Express, although only two are active on routes out of Cincinnati. The other two units are currently stored, one at Roswell and the other one at Melbourne, FL. The Atlas Air fleet that operates for DHL Express also includes two B767-300(ERBDSF)s. Sister carrier Polar Air Cargo (PO, New York JFK) wet-leases a further B747-400(ERF), six B747-8(F)s, and two B767-300Fs from Atlas Air for its own operations for DHL Express, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows.
