Travel spike, shortages to mark Memorial Day weekend

Share

Roughly 37 million Americans are expected to travel at least 50 miles from their homes this coming Memorial Day weekend — a marked increase from the 23 million who ventured out on holiday this time last year. The majority of trips are expected to be made by car, and experts are predicting heavy delays as well as fuel and vehicle shortages. If you haven’t already locked in your long weekend plans, be warned: rental homes, hotel rooms, restaurant bookings, fireworks and hot dogs are also all expected to be in short supply.
