Michael B. Jordan to rename rum brand after criticism

“Black Panther” actor Michael B. Jordan issued an apology in his Instagram story and said he would be changing the name of his rum brand, J’Ouvert, after critics charged him with cultural appropriation. J’Ouvert is the name of an annual celebration that originated in Trinidad and Tobago and celebrates emancipation from slavery, but critics weighed in over Jordan’s lack of ties to the Caribbean.
