The discontinuation of daily housecleaning has become a fact of life for many hotel guests, and the reception is mixed as loss of traditional service is weighed against pandemic-era realities. Low travel demand and labor shortages are behind the change, but spokespersons for Hilton Hotels and Marriott International say many guests prefer less traffic in their rooms for safety reasons.
