Maine hotel revival scuttled by financial storms

A developer’s effort to renovate the York Harbor Motel and Cottages in York Beach, Maine, has foundered in a loan default and landed on the auction block less than a year after his purchase. Taylor Perkins’ York Beach Surf Club LLC bought the 54-room boutique hotel complex for nearly $3.6 million and is listed in court records with $6.2 million in failed loans.
