Manhattan hotel study: Permanent losses, renewal

Manhattan may have forever lost about 11,100 hotel rooms, or roughly 10% of its pre-pandemic total, but the bulk of that gap will be closed by new openings, according to a new analysis. The losses from closure, resizing or conversion to other uses will be balanced by a pipeline of about 9,600 new rooms, the study by LW Hospitality Advisors and JLL Hotels and Hospitality Group projects.
