euroAtlantic Airways (YU, Lisbon) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with MENA Cargo Airlines (Bahrain Int’l) parent firm MENA Cargo wherein the Portuguese ACMI/charter specialist will supply aircraft to support MENA Cargo’s operations in South East Asia, Europe, and the United States.

According to a joint press release, the year-long charter agreement covers the use of euroAtlantic’s B767-300(ER)s and B777-200(ER) in makeshift cargo configurations, with the possibility of more aircraft being added in the near future.

In related news, the Portuguese civil aviation authority (Autoridade Nacional da Aviação Civil – ANAC) has granted euroAtlantic’s application to run scheduled flights from Lisbon to each of Natal Aluizio Alves, Sao Paulo Guarulhos, and Rio de Janeiro Int’l in Brazil. Government records show permission for Recife is still outstanding, however.
