United CEO highlights sustainable aviation fuel efforts
At the UN Climate Change Conference, United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby highlighted the airline’s commitment to speed the development and deployment of sustainable aviation fuel. “It’s doable with the right structure, and it’s going to require government help and support,” Kirby said of the US airline industry’s goal of having 3 billion gallons of cost-competitive SAF available for use in 2030. United, Alaska Airlines and JetBlue have joined the Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance, an effort to drive greater SAF production.
