Employers turn to older employees amid labor shortage

More companies are hiring and accommodating older employees because of their reliability at a time when younger people are leaving, HR leaders and other executives say. “We’ve seen firsthand how important it is to learn from each other and embrace multi-generational workplaces,” says Ty Breland, chief HR officer for Marriott International, which offers employees flexible scheduling, complimentary hotel stays and an opportunity to receive senior care services.
