First United SAF flight was powered by fat

Used cooking oil and rendered animal fat provided the fuel to power an engine of United Airlines flight from Chicago to Washington last month. The flight was the first of its kind to operate using 100% sustainable fuel and marked progress in the airline industry’s goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
