Bonds and federal aid allowed airports to continue a high level of construction and renovation during the pandemic. “While uncertainties remain, the outlook for airports is positive with strong recovery of leisure and domestic traffic and most major airport capital programs are advancing,” said Ken Cushine, principal at Frasca & Associates, which works with several major airports. Airport bonds increased by 5% last year to $14.2 billion.
