Fla. airport completes energy-efficient utility plant

Florida’s Tampa International Airport has completed a $46 million central utility plant that is 30% more energy-efficient and also stands as “a work of art,” with its multicolored piping visible through large windows, said Nick D’Jimas, senior manager of plant and utilities for the Florida airport. “I think it’s great that we are showcasing elements of the facility that we used to do our best to conceal,” he said.
