Share

Meetings technology companies Aventri and MeetingPlay today announced they will merge into a single entity. Connecticut-based Aventri (formerly etouches) has been a leader in venue sourcing technology and data-driven, end-to-end meetings management solutions. It drove growth through 2021 with a virtual event solution that focused on data capture and included monetization features. Maryland-based MeetingPlay has been an innovator in meetings technology, first as a mobile app provider for in-person events. Through the Covid-19 pandemic, the company leveraged its tech expertise to produce a virtual meeting platform that has driven close to 500 percent revenue growth since 2020. Major corporate clients claimed between the two companies include Autodesk, Facebook, Marriott, PepsiCo and Wells Fargo.

MeetingPlay CEO Eric Lochner will move forward as CEO of the merged entity. Aventri CEO Jim Sharpe will operate as an advisor.

The companies have not announced a new name. According to a company spokesperson, the companies will operate independently for the near term, with integration planned “in the coming months.” The company did not provide a more detailed timeline or sunset plans for any current features as the companies unite.

Along with the tie-up, the companies announced a capital infusion from Sunstone Partners and Camden Partners to push “aggressive growth,” according to a press release. The investment amount was not disclosed but the company said it would funnel the cash to additional technology investments as well as growing its service teams to help clients deliver seamless, transformative events.
