Bob Jordan takes the helm at Southwest Airlines

Monday was the last day as Southwest CEO for Gary Kelly, whose nearly 20-year tenure included the acquisition of AirTran Airways and expansion into Hawaii and international markets. Kelly has been succeeded by Robert Jordan, who said he’s “very optimistic” about the return of travel. Jordan becomes the airline’s sixth CEO and also joins the board of the directors.
