Visa Specialist CIBT Acquires Tech Platform

CIBT has acquired a software platform from a Switzerland-based technology firm that will help the McLean, Va.-based visa and passport service provider automate aspects of the visa application process, CIBT announced Tuesday.

Terms of the platform acquisition from the Swiss firm, Viselio, were undisclosed. CIBT also added a “team of developers” from Viselio, effective immediately, according to the company.

The platform “includes both client-facing and back-end functionality and automates and expedites many of the steps required to complete a visa application process,” a CIBT spokesperson told BTN in an email. The company plans to use the platform to further integrate data from corporate clients’ travel, mobility, human resources and security departments for a streamlined experience for international travelers, according to the spokesperson.

“With Covid-19, the entire landscape has been drastically altered and clients need tech-enabled solutions that minimize the effort and complexity associated with international mobility ensuring accuracy, compliance, and speed,” CIBT CEO Eric Scheinerman said in a statement.
