FedEx Express CEO named

Richard Smith, the son of FedEx founder, chairman and CEO Frederick Smith, will take over as president and CEO of FedEx Express Sept. 1, overseeing the company’s core air and international shipping business. Smith will succeed Donald Colleran, who will stay on as adviser and retire on Dec. 31 after 33 years with the company.
